Thumbs up Pictures - Alaska Suby Owners Meeting

Hello all,
Well we had our first meeting of the Alaska Suby's and I think we had a pretty good turn out. We had 7 RS's, one L with a nice body kit, and a Legacy Outback show up. We had 14 people stop by for lunch and I think everyone had a good time. Of course the snow was coming down the whole time, so the pictures did not turn out very well, but here they are anyways. Thanks to everyone who showed up, and I look forward to seeing even more people and their cars the next time around.

Later...RallyX13

I wouldn't crop out your Honda, we all know it would not have made it in anyways. The snow that we were getting would have been too much. Although it might help if you took off the bald summer tires and put some studs on it.

Thats what I like about Imprezas all year round we can have meets and things and when I goto other import boards all I see is old posts from last summer and complaints like "boohoo get rid of the snow" etc. In those pics all that snow looks fun and by the looks of it that parking lot seems empty (fun!)

Hey who's got the blue coupe with the white Shelby stripes? I've always thought they would look good on an RS, and now I can see that they do! Any more pictures of that particular car available?

Yeah, that's RallyX13's. He applied them himself. We kinda poke fun of him sometimes because others mistake the car for a Neon R/T at a distance...hehe

sspriest- We just had an SCCA Solo board meeting last night, dicussing events, and looks like we may have an event in Nenena. We are looking at the first week of June. We'll have to wait and see just how many Imprezas will make the event as most owners do not auto-x, but I'll be there.

Cool

First, let me say my car does not look like a Neon...unless Neon's look that cool.
ArticWRX, you can find pics under the I-club section for me.
We would send some snow down, but since this is the first good snow fall we have got, I think I want to be greedy with it.
sspriest- I will be sure and let you know in advance when the next meeting is. We have someone from Kenai that is going to try and make it too.
I think that we will have a meeting before the auto-x season starts. I am not sure exactly what we will be doing, but I will think of something. I am looking to have the next one in about a month or so.
Well take it easy and I will talk to everyone later. Thanks again to everyone that showed up.

Lightbulb

If you think our English is good, you should see what we can do with some Ice and a shovel. We can build a two story Igloo with a 4 car garage. But sometimes I leave the cars in the garage, and take the dog sled to work. Forget horsepower ratings... how many of you can boast about having 10 DOG power, at the paws!!

Cool

Well I have two yellow Labs, though they'd prefer to ride on the snowmobile than actually have to tow something. Nah they're not spoiled at all....

Alaska. Damn. Well, if I'm ever up for a really.......REALLY.... long drive....!

Wonder how long it'd take to get from New Hampshire to Barrow.

*sshhhh* If you look very closely, you can see a pack of Subarus in thier natural enviroment. Let's try not to spook them, as there will be no way to catch up to them again.
Great pics! Looks like you got lucky and got the pics during that one hour of sun you guys get up there during the summer. J/K! And for all you Texans out there, who always say Texas has the biggest everything: "Texas, almost half the size of Alaska" Peace!

Alaska? Hey, do you guys all live in Igloos? How do you keep them from melting in the winter? How do you get electricity to them? Kidding guys. I used to live in Palmer for almost 15 years. Looking at your pictures made me realize just how much I miss it up there. I am glad to see you guys have a strong chapter up there. BTW. Those questions are ones that were actually asked when I first got down here. Unbelievable.

Curt...I was asked those same questions when I joined the Air Force. I got so used to them that I started going along with them. I started telling people I rode a moose to school and we had these fancy igloos. One of my favorites was telling them that this money thing was new to me, since we used moose nuggets! But I guess, everyone has stereotypical things they think about some states. be sure and give us a shout if you ever come back up!
