Need some help from some CALI people.

Recently I have lost my job and My Girlfriend and I have split up.
(no big loss from either)

I was born and raised in MI and currently live here. As I have always dreamed, I am considering moving out to California. I have gone through schooling and a few years of work in the film industry and I think now is the best time for me to take the next step.

This is still just in the planning stages but I need to start doing some research.

Ideally I would like to be near the heart of the film industry (Hollywood). So I am thinking Los Ang. or so.

Has anyone ever just packed up where you live and moved out to Cali?

Is anyone looking for a roomate or how hard would it be to find one?

How hard would it be to find ANY kind of full time job to get myselt situated hopefully prior to actually leaving Michigan?

Well, I could use any help you can offer.

edit: I do not expect to jump right into big time film making, I know how the field works. I am only 21 and I need to get myself out there and I think now is my best chance.

If you want to live in Hollywood, you may want to post this in the Southern California Forum.

But, since I'm here....

I lived in Hollywood for 4 years trying to get into the Music Industry. The closest I ever got was doing tech support for Clear Channel, which sucked ASS.

I moved back to the Bay Area a year ago, but I still miss LA sometimes.

Didn't you also do DJ-ish things for NPR in Santa Monica?
