Talking I'm Running slicks on my WRX!!!

hahahah, just kidding....my tires are so bald, so I'm gonna need new tires soon. I've almost made up my mind to go with the S03's (225 45 R17). Tirerack has them for $166 Do you guys know where I can find a better deal? Are there other tires as good as the S03 that you guys would recommend? I want something that doesn't squeal easy and doesn't have a lot of road noise. What do you guys suggest?

Thanks,
Amir,

I don't think anyone is cheaper than TireRack for S03's.

My S03's are almost gone too and I am dreading dropping $700 for rubber

I may try the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's, they've gotten phenomenal reviews and they're a steal at $124 each for 215/45-17's (I have a wagon, so no 225's for me)

Kumho Ecsta MX are about the same performance as the S03 based on tire racks reviews. I can say they are a very nice tire, I use them in 215/45/17 They are WAY cheaper than the S03s.

We'll see how long they last, but I've been very happy with the performance so far.

The key word there being "about." I really don't think those two tires are super close in performance, but perhaps close in performance per dollar.

I will definitely be going with the Goodyear F1 for my next set of tires. Tirerack did a head to head scientific test on identical cars and found the F1s to be virtually identical to the S-03s. As WagonMonster said, they are way cheaper than the S-03s as well.

Default Sorry for the Hijack.

If anyone is interested, I have tires for sale:

Bridgeston RE070 225/45/17
Sticky, Sticky street tires. Suitable for light track days.

These tires were rolled off the truck and into the dealership. I put on my advan wheels and tires that I had picked up a week before my STI arrived.

The tires are brand-new. They still have the mold tabs and color stripe on the tread. As most of you know, these tires sell for $175 each on tirerack.com. I am asking $150 obo each, and I can meet you for delivery in the greater Bay area.

Sorry again for the Hijack
