Default 00 impreza 2.2 can I turbo?

I have a 2.2 L wagon. I 've read that the 2.2 is a great engine can you bolt on a 2.5 turbo kit? What might be the hardest thing to find in order to turbo it or should it be really easy?

The 2.2 is a GREAT engine, yes.....that is the 2.2T block that came on the 91-94 Legacy Turbo. It is a closed deck block, with factory forged crank and conrods.
As for the N/A 2.2, alas but it is the same open deck design as the 2.5.

You can still boltup any 2.5 turbokit on there though, just be careful on the boost.

Impreza GC8 I have another ?

If I wanted to get around 250 hp how much boost would I have to run with a fairly simple turbo system and would I have to upgrade clutch and othe transmission pieces?

You should realy do some searching....

If you wanted 250 I would go with a 2.2T legacy short block swap, it would be a lot more boost friendly. I know there are a few people who have turboed there open deck 2.2....

Heres a thread with some info on the blocks http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=465044
