Post McRae's car.

The had to cut the car open to get him out. Makinen and his team mate, Loix, also crashed out of the race but not as badly as McRae. McRae is okay, whew!

Thank G-D for roll cages, otherwise we'd have Colin McMush.

Have a Nice Day?

I agree with you Riot Squad! Makes me want to get a roll cage, eventhough I'm not a rally driver... Just in case.

Have a Nice Day?

Good Lord! Tell me that they turned the camera sideways! SHEESH! I would think that a rollcage would help in that stuff!

nope, i beleive he went off an embankment and that is right way (camera) and his car is really on the edge of a mini cliff...that drop off looks to be at least about 9 feet...what fun that would be on a bike i hope colin is doing better, didn't he break his cheek bone and bruise his lungs? or am i thinking of another driver? anyhow i hope that driver pulls thorugh and gets well soon, and Colin boy, keep it slideways...just not that much

yep, colin has had surgery on his broken cheekbone. He is doubtfull for the next rally in 3 weeks.

There has been a lot of high impact crashes this year, richards in finland was pretty horendous.

These guys are taking big risks this year as the cars are getting very closely matched. Hope he recovers quickly.

The enbankment he went off of was (I believe) 6 meters... something like 19-20 feet. Man that thing looks bad...

Just watched the onboard footage from the crash on TV, boy did that happen fast. One tiny mistake and they were off the road. Flipped over and left the road upside down in 6th gear.

They are so lucky.

I was stood at the corner that colin crashed out on the Rally GB last year, that was a much bigger crash than the TV coverage showed, they flipped at least 20 feet in the air landing on the boot and then the floorpan, the wheels had been ripped off.

They know how to build a strong rally car these WRC teams is all i can say.
