Hey guys. I recently was in a small fender bender and it just gave me more of an incentive to do the small conversion that I would like.
Im looking to use MY99 - MY01 parts. The hood, fenders (or only the damaged side if the same), bumper (and beam), bumper lights (and harnesses) headlights, corner lenses, and grill. Anyone have an idea of cost and places in mind for these parts used? Thanks, Benny |

2.5k plus painting would be a good budget.

I had a smaller figure in mind, but I forgot about the paint!
Now that you say that, here is an idea I was also thinking about. I found locally, a MY99 2.5 RS with a blown headgasket and needs paint on the LF fender and hood. 74,000 miles and the interior is perfect. The guy wants $4000 for it. I talked him down to $3600 and if I showed up with $3200, I probably could buy it. What do you think about that? |

The funny thing about it is someone locally offered me $3000 for my 93 Impreza L 2WD .....
167,000 miles. though it does have a 2.2 tranny from a turbo legacy. There is nothing wrong with it, I just thought it was funny that for close to the same price, I could have a Supercar compared to mine..![]() |

That is a great deal if it's for real. For $200 in parts, the HG is fixed and you have a $10k car for $3800. Are you sure there is nothing else major wrong like a tweaked frame or borked tranny?

Im telling you it's for real! The man thats selling it has a spoiled little rich kid. He doesn't want to mess with it, so he's selling it cheap. Im just worried about how big of a job the HG is. And if I unbolt it all, find out it has a warped head, or worse THE BLOCK! If I want this car it has to be done before the week is over. HELP!

....( Wait....let me catch my breath..)
One thing though, I cant seem to find any used parts places or Wrecking Yards for this conversion without having to pay for shipping. Though I find some good prices @ www.rallytek.com for various V5 pieces. But would V5 bolt up without any problems? Any suggestions for used RS parts in the California area would be great. I dont care if I have to drive 300 miles. Well, depends on the parts... ![]() |

I made a 2.2RS for cheap.
Hood, vents, etc ran me about $200 Used grille, free, but probably worth about $25 Headlamps, about $100 each Bumper, damaged, free but it will cost a bit to have repaired. Figure $150 or so in that. Painting...find a body shop that is slow. Got my hood, grille, vents painted for $125 I think. Bumper's not done yet. Fog lights and bumper lights courtesy of NASIOC classifieds from people who bought clear stuff or better lamps. Maybe $50-75. It just takes time to collect all the bits at a good price. End result can be seen here. |

yos. a STI v6 bumper BRAND NEW is $220 at the dealer. worth it. (hint, its the same exact part number as a 2001 2.5RS bumper). has the lip spoiler holes and everything.
dont buy fiberglass junk from whatnot, when u can buy OEM FHI subaru for less money that lasts. PM me or hit me on AIM: moosecsx if u need some help, ive dont it on my own car so i have some experiance. (93L --> STI v6 front end) EVERYTHING will bolt up. yes. it will |
