damnit, my justy already died. we had JUST talked about how i shouldn't get this damn car... but i rolled the dice and lost.
anyone have any experience with ECVTs? my clutch temp light came on and now it wont grab gear during acceleration. It feels like a burnt clutch, but it's an auto!... any ideas? Chilton sucks. thanks, =brett= |

Best Idea... transplant a 5 speed. You are not going to find a good ECVT in a junkyard because any cars WITH them are usually in there for that very reason (bad tranny)
I am not 100% sure what all you will need but you should need something along the lines of the tranny (duh) pedal box, cables and linkages and maybe even the flywheel (not sure about that though) |

yeah, that's my best bet, i think. I dont think it's worth it though, i dont really wanna bother with this car... it needs alot of new things [ie suspension, bushings, front glass, heater core] ...i'm just going to chalk it up to lesson learned. never ever get an automatic....
thanks for the advice, know anyone who wants a justy? =brett= |

Offer it up cheap on the USMB www.ultimatesubaru.net I'm sure one of use PNW suby nuts will grab it to convert for a rally X car or something.
Is it FWD or 4WD? (sorry I should know this, I think its 4WD, but I am not exactly a just expert) |

Before you quit on it, check the brushes. The ecvt uses an electromagnetic type torque converter. If your brushes are worn down or have junk on them, it would act like a slipping clutch.

I'd take it for free too! Alas, the East Coast is not Subaruville
