Default stock wrx radio lights!!!

Anyone had problems with radio lights not working??
Radio and 6cd changer works perfectly, but no radio lights!
I checked lighting wire(violet) into radio, and it has 12v.
Need help!

check the fuses in the cabin fuse box...its behind the coin pocket

Thanks, I'll try that. I do, however, have power to the plug to the radio illumination circut. I am wondering now if I have a bad illumination ground
