Default BAJA Computer/XM/Ham Radio Project

Ok, So I will post some pictures later this afternoon about the project.

THere is what I am/have done. I have already installed my Delphi XM radio and antenna. I have also installed my ICOM IC-208H (2M/440) Amateur radio with Diamond NMO roof mount antenna (had to drill a nice 3.14" hole in th roof). It all came out very nice and professional looking.

I am waiting for the 7.2" TV screens for the head rests to come in so I can install those on the 2 fron head rests, facing th back seats.

I am also waiting for the 7" touch screen/VGA to come in for the front. I am flush mounting the screen on the dash in a hand made, carbon fiber shell that I made. It looks real nice!

I have already built the computer for the car, which is running WINDOWS XP Pro, Microsoft Streets and Trips 2004 (GPS), and alot of other software including the DVD player.software and such. I designed a nice front end, so I do nto have to look at the windows explorer screen. This will be mounted under the passenger side seat with the Power Supply and voltage regulator.

I will have more updates and pictures tonight! This is tight!!

Sounds cool. You apparently have a lot of time on your hands
I have a dual-band Yaesu installed in my WRX (sorry, no Baja here) with the remote control panel in place of the factory cupholder under the center vents.
My antenna is a glass mount on the rear window, not into drilling holes. It works very well.

Pics are coming, but my wife and I are in the hospital right now, having a baby!

As far as having the time on my hand, I do not have any time on my hands at all! This is a nice project, that will take some time to get installed and tuned right! I manage 2 military bases as well as have a pregnant wife, baby this weekend. Time? What is time?

I had a 02 WRX that I traded for the BAJA. I had the Icom IC-208H in the WRX over the gauge pack in the center console with the radio installed under the passenger seat. i hava diamond NMO in the center of the roof with a diamond NR77NMO 2m/440 antenna.

I have the XM and the Icom installed already. I hope this weekend to get the computer installed and ready to test with the screens. Only the baby can tell!
