i'm planning to buy a set of hella 500s but not sure what pattern to go with. i want them on with my lows (as well as highs as i have it wired).
i've had driving lights on other cars and aimed properly got good lighting without pissing off other drivers. after searching all the forums, i can't find any good information (or better yet pictures) of the light output/beam pattern for the fogs vs driving in the 500s. any info or pics appriciated! |

well, you MUST NOT use driving pattern lights with your lowbeams.
You CAN use Fog pattern lights with highbeams, but it only cuts your contrast for things in the distance since your foreground (right in front of your car) will be so much brighter than in the distance. I highly recommend just getting a set of FF1000 Driving lamps to be used with your hibeams only. Then, if you actually need foglamps, you can't beat the Hella Micro DE Fog, which is small enough that you can mount it in your bumper and it would be very unobtrusive. |
