Broken Compustar/static

I think I have a loose or broken unit. My remote still works as I see the little signal flash on my unit (trying to transmit). But for some reason my base unit in the car is not accepting the commands. I tried to wiggle the wires on the unit and it works for like 1 min. Anyways how much does the unit go for these days just in case I need a new unit. I am going back to the shop who installed it to see if this is under warrenty.

Also I've been getting static SHOCK everyday for the pass week when I am exiting my car. Anyone else having this problem?? How can I get rid of some of the static in my car??? Thanks,

I have Compustar. Got it installed at A&B Sound. I've had two remotes go bad (one went 4 days after the install). I've also had the behavior you describe with low batteries in the remote.

As for static, I don't think you can ever eliminate static build up. As long as electronic items in your car are properly grounded, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Where did you get it installed? I work at JB's and it should have lifetime warranty. Our's is. Maybe it lost programming?

I got it installed at FX audio in downtown. I just replaced the battery about a week ago. I got a appointment at 9 am tomorrow morning. The unit worked fine for almost 2 years now. But it's when funny a few days after I've been getting shocked everytime I exited the car. How much is JB selling the unit for now? I goto FM 2 way model. Thanks

We have the Compustar alarm/starter on sale for 399. I could sell it for 310, at a NASIOC discount.

When in today and got my unit checked. My antenna cable connector was rip due to the unit being too close to my pedal. I guess when I had my gauges installed the unit was moved too close to the pedal and over time it just ripped. Cost me about $50 bux.

I just checked my bill when I had it installed the unit cost me $550 sigh... They said a replacement remote is about $150 bux. what are you guys selling it for shane? thx

Just the unit was 550? Our remotes are 150 too, but i could save you about $20. $130.

Sorry about that B, but I didn't think I touched the wiring for the command start. Just ran your wires next to it. May have been too many wires sharing the same space...? PM me please.
