Default Theft issues with double-din video units like kenwood and eclipse?

With all these new double-din indash LCD units coming out, are there any security features being built into these units? i checked out the Kenwood one and didn't see anything on the site about it. I mean, it would be nice if the screen folded away and stayed hidden when the car is off or something. I would like to get something like the Kenwood unit, but any potential theif who takes one look at it will know its totally aftermarket. i know i'm being paranoid but i just want to get some opinions from the people who have these units before i go ahead and get one. Thanks

Eclipse head units have great anti-theft measures, and many of them are actually recovered. No one knows how Eclipse can track down stolen head units, but they do.

so Eclipse would actually give you a new one back or would they give you the one that was stolen from the car? What about the Kenwood unit?

Eclipse will give you a new one if the unit is purchased and installed at an authorized dealer, you return the registration card, and you get a police report documenting the theft.

They don't offer that anymore. Also with these units you can put code in, how it works is you put in a cd like Jon B cool relax and put in a 6 digit code so if the unit is disconnected from power in any way you will have to put in the Jon B cool relax or the cd that you used and the code if it isn't put in right 3 times it will be disabled.

That Kenwood 6.5' LCD double din cd/dvd/mp3 player kicks ass..I might get one of those..and your right it isn't hidden so if I spend $1200+ on this unit I will spend the extra $200 to get a good security system too, atleast then if its stolen my insurance will cover it since I will not have a passive factory alarm system

SiOrange, do you live in/near New Hampshire? Otherwise, it doesn't matter.
$2300....just like every other authorized dealer.
