Question Oil Cooler Kit for automatic transmission question.

Will it be any big difference for installing the oil cooler kit for 2.5 automatic transmission?

Thanks

I just see subaruparts.com has got the genuine subaru oil cooler for 2.5 with automatic transmission.

I like to know will it be any big difference before and after installing the kit.

Heat is one of the main killers for an auto... watch ya fluid temps.

If you are driving your car hard.. doing quite a few shifts.. up and down the revs..etc.. then your fluid temps will rocket...

A cooler should help to control this.

I just installed the $99 combination oil and tranny fluid cooler from Summit racing. It's a nice cooler and it handles both fluids. Too much heat is bad for our engines and trannies. Since intalling the cooler, I've noitced a bit smoother shifting from my auto. YMMV. I'm also planning on a filter change and synthetic ATF(which should run cooler).

BTW, the summit dual cooler is too big to use in our cars unless you remove the AC condensor(which I did). Make sure you measure first and then order a cooler that will fit. There's not much room for coolers on our cars....

Regards, John
