Default wandering idle with valet mode [utec]

I had to valet my car a few times last week so I had the utec on valet mode, which seemed to work, except for the idle was wandering, and I could see my vaccuum fluctuating and the AFRs going way more rich and then lean than it normally does.

When I got in my car to go home, the guy had turned it off, so I switched the remote switch to one of my maps and tried to start the car, but it wouldnt start, it only cranked. Cycling the key didnt help,and the check engine light wasnt flashing when I turned the key on, I had to disconnect the battery and reconnect it to get the car started again.

Anybody had this problem before?

Perhaps he selected the security mode? Once you select security mode the next time you shut the car down it won't start until you select another map...just a suggestion...

No it was still on valet mode when he brought it up and turned it off, I switched it to a map and it wouldnt start no matter what I put the switch on. Too bad no one else has had this problem, its still happening.

Santofontana: I have the same problem. Does your valet mode limit you to 7 psi? mine sure as hell doesnt.

Yeah the valet mode seems to work besides the rough idle and no start issue. I can hear the difference in the exhaust with the wastegate open. It wont get up to 10psi and is pretty slow.

Mine doesnt do that.. I can definately boost OVER 7psi.. into like 14'ish.

I'm using the stage 2 map off of the TXS site.

The idle starts wandering right when I switch the remote switch to #6 and stops when I go to 5.

My tuner shows the afr wandering alot more than the logs do, from the 13s up to the 15s.

I would call TXS, sounds like a hardware issue, you may want to load the latest software but remember to save your maps to the computer first.

Im pretty sure I have a stage 2 base map in slot 1, but I cant check right now because my laptop is being repaired. I know that there is a working map loaded in slots 1-5.

did you figure this out? my utec logs look almost identical to yours only it does this on my tuned maps. I can't stablize the timing or vacuum at idle.

No, I emailed two people at TXS, no response at all. I have been too busy with work and stuff to play with my toys so I havent persued it any further, but I will.

Hmm thats weird.. i cant see whats making it go wrong. The ignition timing even though it might not be the cause of the bad idling once it gets going it probably adds to whatever it is. Its going low then high then low then high like its overcorrecting..

Like I said, I am having a very similar problem, but I have modded injectors. This is also after a custom turboxs tune, which they could not solve. I have one last variable that I have troubleshot which is swapping to different injectors. If santo is on the stock injectors, then I am completely clueless. I feel like I keep hijacking threads on thsi subject, but I have been unsuccessful finding any closure on these problems. Most of these threads end without someone posting what actually solved their problem. So, santo please keep us up to date.
