Looks like a knock sensor plug? Does it goto a sensor thats bolted to the block. Might also goto a purge solenoid with 2 vacuum lines?? That engine is almost clean enough to eat off of

1. Looks like the destination breather from the PCV valves. Goes onto hard lines attached to intercooler.
2. I can't tell what you are pointing at, either hte cruise control cable or some hose that looks like it's going to the solenoid in front of the intake.
3.Looks like there ued to be a nipple there for the boost solenoid blow off. I'd check the intake path to ensure it doesn't get sucked up by the turbo!
4. Also attaches to the hard breather lines attached to the intercooler.
5. alternator plug.
6. can't tell.
7. looks like the knock sensor plug.
8. a/c compressor plug. If JDM is different you'll have to use the WRX compressor.

You could probably splice them, but i'm not sure if they run any differently.

This looks fun ! :

1.) Breather hose to intercooler hard line.
2.) don't know the exact name but its a one way valve from the stock intake hose
to the intake manifold.
3.) return vent line from the boost solenoid valve.
4.) breather from block to stock intake hose.
5.) Plugs into the alternator. (just to the left of the red boot)
6.) Breather to PCV valve under the throttle body.
7.) Knock sensor . There should be a plug that goes to that on the engine harness.
8.) Air compressor plug. (The other end is right beside it.)

So what are you doing about the ACVS ?

I should be getting the harness for the AVCS tomorrow.

I found out something really strange today. As i have said earlier on this thread the A/C plug on the harness wont fit the the plug on the A/C pump.
I went to subaru of riverside checked it out, and found that on the WRX and STI 04 and 05 models they had the 1 wire connection to the A/C pump so an 04 or 05 harness would fit the A/C plug on this engine.

But if that was so should'nt this be a Ver8?

This is weird 02 and 03 has 3 wires to the A/C pump

04 and 05 has 1?

This engine has the a/c with the 1 wire connection but it should be from an 03 or 04???

What the f*&^K is going on???

I called gruppe-s and i'm not quite sure they could understand what i was saying but a guy from there told me " It wouldn't surprise me if they put an 04 A/C pump on there" or something along those lines. However they really wasn't much help.

I paid 3 grand for this motor and felt i got a good deal now i'm startning to smell a rat.

No one said that the 02/03 JDM engines weren't 1 wire. I'm interested in how you solve the wiring though. I've got the same issue. According to the FSM, the extra wires are part of a temp protection circuit.

Ok, just compared the WRX manual and the STi manual for the A/C plug. I also looked at the connector on my WRX compressor. According to the manual, two of the wires are used for "thermal protection" of the A/C system, but the STi doesn't have that in the circuit at all. Looking at my WRX compressor, I don't see any evidence of a thermal protection device; in fact the two wires are just jumpered together. So, I'm going to just solder/heatwrap the two wires together, and use the A/C control wire for the compressor.

According to the schematic:

Pin 3 (Blue) is the control wire
Pin 2 (Yellow) is thermal out
Pin 1 (Green/Orange) is thermal in
