Default Legacy EJ25 -> EJ20T Project has Begun!!

Well, guys, after a long wait for garage space, and getting the parts, I have begun my swap. If you can remember, about 5 months ago, my EJ25 died after running without oil, because the pan gasket cracked.
I will upload some pictures later on. Currently I am prepping the motor. Just finished the fun job of pulling off the intake manifold. Hopefully the old motor will be pulled out midweek, and we can set the ej20t in. The only complications I see right now, is ill have to modify everything so i can use my TMIC. It comes with an AWIC (which will be sold ) but no radiator or pump. Anyways, there will be pics up, hopefully next week the wonderful wiring job will be started..... I cant wait to start chopping up the wiring harness... woohoo.

Sweet car and set up, I'll be watching this one.

What year and make is your swap from?

Matt - who is waiting for his car to die, just not anytime soon.

Sweet keep us posted. I will be doing the exact same thing to my 98 LGT. Are you tackling the wiring by yourself? That is the one part that scares me

Good Luck, I my call for your expertise soon

There are some write ups for the swaps.. But there are none for our specific year and model of car. I will help out as soon as I can find an engine to swap.

Subie22, where did you get your engine, any leads for me

Nice to see more Legacy owners doing swaps. Most of them seem to be BD/BGs, but it's probably because of the problems with your Phase I 2.5s.

I've got something cracked in mine, so i don't know how long it will last. EJ257 or EJ20G are my candidates at the moment.

All you people make me wanna swap! That whole 'school' thing is getting in the way tho. Hoffman, you should write up a very very detailed log of this swap. You will be loved by many of us.

On another thread (the one in legacy forum with the wagon with the ej257 block) a guy mentioned the LGT hood scoop will flow better than impreza ones, is this true?

Since you guys are reading, and have BD's and such, where is our specific forum? Legacycentral.org is for first gen, legacyGT.com is for 3rd gen.... no love.

I think that we are the BD bastard childs I have done alot of searching and this has been the best site for info for myself. It's either old school or new school, but no middle age for ourselfs. One of us should start up a site dedicated to BG and BD party people. or maybe I just haven't found it yet

Mods, please don't ban me if this is wrong, just delete my post
Hope this helps, don't mean to hijack

1) i got my motor from a guy in NY that bought it to swap it but when i went to look at it i found out that it was in a bad accident and needed alotta money put into it.. which i ended up spending way more than i figured but thats hear nor there
2) if you live close then you can come on over and look at them or i can give ya a hand... if your not near.. ill have to take pics of what you need and send them to you or scan em in type thing.. just shoot me a pm..
3) I wouldnt go w/ a TT setup your waisting your time do some research on the topic nobody really recomends the swap because its an extensive job from what i understand....
