Default WRX engine swap drivetrain question

I am doing a wrx swap into my legacy i am keeping my legacy tranny and going have it bolted up to the wrx engine i was wondering if i have to buy a wrx flywheel and buy the legacy clutch or do i have to buy everything to match the legacy tranny for ex: i have to buy legacy flywheel and legacy cluch and information on this will help me out a lot thanks

I believe you would want everything to match the legacy tranny. Flywheel and clutch. The question is, "Does the WRX and Legacy have the same clutch mechanism?" This I do not know.

the clutch/flywheel has to match legacy "push" tranny.. a wrx is a "pull"

get an ACT street clutch (stock won't cut it) use the stock flywheel (you should have it resurfaced) and call it done

Hey good luck with your swap… I’m right in the middle of a WRX swap into my 98 BD as well… Good to see some more late model turbo Legacy’s around.

Jaxx is correct the Legacy is a pull as opposed to the WRX push fork. Personally I’m swapping in a WRX 5MT and rear diff to get rid an ailing AT…

Can’t wait to see the finished project
