Question who thinks that cobb should make another map that should make our cars more power

hey since we all paid the cost for our access port (which is the best i have seen yet), do you all think we should at least one more power map to add to our accessport? no matter what car or year you have. i know we have the street tuner now but we should still get a bump up on the maps for those who are not going to get the street tuner. (I do remember that these are moderatly tuned, so there is more room for power)

What, like a stage 3 map? I think the reason they have stuck to Stage 2 is because mods start become less and less standard as you go on, and really need a full tune.

What I would like to see more, is the original maps put into ST format so we dont have to recreate the wheel for gas mileage, anti-theft, etc...

oh yeah with st i would totally agree. why are they taking away all the standard maps that are supposed to be there in the first place. technically we all have paid for those maps and the ST is something that should be in addition to the current piece. its not like we have not paid for the rights for those. now if you the ST, your saying you have to pay someone more money to remake the maps that we have already paid for? this would be a rip off then.

I don't think it is a good idea to go more aggresive on the general maps...

has anyone with an AP stopped in and gotten a custom tune? I wouldn't mind a custom tuned map (like store it on my ap...like an st map)

just wondering what kind of $$ and where are the locations? salt lake, san diego?

it should be fine with a more agressive map. and if someone doesnt feel comfortable they can just stay with the current ones. but a stage 3 with the tbe would be awesome. and also be able to have the current maps with the ST too.

this is an incredibly dumb idea

its not like a dial on your radio you can't just turn things up
generic reflashs have-to have a margin of error or cars will keep blowing up and people would want Cobb to buy them a new engine ..

and its already out there. its called stage 2.5. it was demanded and delivered

the solution is a custom tune on a dyno by a experienced tuner. Be it by ST or some other method

I believe the posters point is to just make it available so those that want to wreck their cars can do it quickly and easily.....

I dunno maybe they could make a couple versions, like if your car is running a bit rich or lean try this map maybe? seems like a horrible crap shoot though.

well stage 3 is suposed to be coming. I don't know what they are waiting for. I guess they are trying to get a TMIC to put their name on first or something. I could see them not doing it now that the street tuner is out. I agree that once the stock turbo comes off it's going to be hard to have off the shelf maps that people won't constantly bitch about....

uhm.. the more you mod, the more your car becomes different then someone elses. That should be fairly obvious.

The reason they make maps less aggressive than they could be is because they have to fit correctly on EVERY car. Lets say the average car knocks at a timing level of 14 at 16.5 lbs of boost at 3500 rpm (mine does, but im on 91 :P). Your particular car may be able to do 16, but there are cars who will knock at 12. They have to shoot for the "best fit" and will use a level low enough that almost every car will run without det'ing.

If you want more power you'll have to get a custom tune. No way around it.

Why would anyone want a stage 3 map? You have StreetTuner, utec ecutek!!!???? At stage 3 there are so many variables, why wouldn't you get a custom tune to make it worthwhile and safe. Every car is different, and should be tuned accordingly.

A stage 3 off the shelf map might be comparable to a properly tuned stage 2.5.

Makes no sense to me. Do it right if you're going to mess with big turbos and more fuel, etc. Custom tune!

well im running the stage 2.5 map with a bigger TMIC and have a fuel pump sitting on my dvd player. cobb makes their map's safe, stay within their parameters, watch your egts, and you're fine.

eventually, i want to get a map from the protuner, as soon as there is one within 6 hours of me, im there!

Listen to you...

6 months ago you couldn't find a 12MM socket from a torque wrench, and now you're all super tuner chick!
