I tried using my buddies spare TurboXs MBC on my stage 2.5 set up which hasnt really been able to hit target boost very well sense ive added a larger TMIC and header. When i barrowed the mbc and set it to 17 psi it worked perfect, i didnt have any PTFB problems or spikes, it hit target boost quicker and held it like a rock all the way to redline. i really liked the way it felt but i took it off the same day just be on the safe side while i do more research. Has anyone else done this? I talked to Cobb and they said that it is Ok to try because some of their buddies have mbc's too with no problems. I just wish i had a wideband 02 to throw on their to really make sure it would be safe. If anyone has any info on this subject, please share

I'd like to know about this too. I recently upgraded to 2.5 and had to install a MBC because my factory boost selenoid was fried and I was boosting really low. I will be replacing my TMIC with a V7 and I'm looking into getting headers too.
Blackie - What kind (and brand) of headers do you have right now? |

know anyone with a tuna or a wb? It will most likely work alright.. but taking it off until you can make sure is probably a good idea. I know it works fine with the UTEC, and if the map on the accessport is set to reach a certian PSI and you are just using a MBC to get to that psi -- everything should be close enough.
Does an accessport show knock via check engine flash or do you just have to feel it when it pulls timing? Either way, if you arent going overboard with the MBC and keeping it at sane levels, I dont see why it would be a problem. Rob |
