Default just got AP, very impressed

I just got may accessport today and loaded stage 1 93 octane base map and the first thing that comes to mind is WOW

from 2k to 4k rpm and from 5500 up it seems like a different car. Much smoother and more powerful than I was expecting. I also had an occasional hesitation on accelleration in the 3 to 4k range that was eliminated.

Overall I am very very happy with my purchase...

Man, you said it! I just loaded my Stage 1 93 octane and what a difference! Honestly, the car doesn't feel much more powerful to me, but I don't even care, this thing is as smooth as butter now! I mean, I can't see why Subaru doesn't make this thing standard equipment!

Thanks for giving me a brand new car for $600 Cobb .

Exactly my thoughts when I first flashed my ECU going on 3 weeks ago now! Nice, smooth pull with no hesitation. Definately a nice improvement!

I expected the difference to be much more subtle than it was. I am absolutely stunned that they could make such a difference in performance by only changing the programming.

I'm going to try to hold off on stage 2 (need new tires first), but I'm already looking forward to it.

I had the same experience. Totally a different car. After a week, the power seemed even stronger. The smooth consistent power reminded me of how the car was when I drove it off the lot...

I will be going stage 2 for sure, but like Rollo, I need some new tires first (I think I am going to go with Pirelli Pzero Nero M+s).

Yes, you guys are going to love stage 2. Had to get better tires soon after going to stage 2 as I was able to break traction very easily.

Check out the falken grb fk451 tires. They are working great for me.

I was a crazy Combat Engineer too! I've been in Cali, and North Cakolaki. Missed Oki tho, oh well. Got out in 2002. Perfect timing!

I've looked and looked sir but I can't seem to find any grid squares...the Sgt sent me back though and told me to ask you if you had any spare flight line?

What units where you with?

I was with:

Aco 9th ESB '96-'97
Cco 1st CEB '97-98
Aco 1st CEB attached to Aco 1/1 11th MEU '98-'00
MCB Camp Pendleton Range Controle '00
Cco 1st CEB attached to Eco 3/4 '00-'01
MWSS-373 '01-'02
Bco 1st CEB attached to 3/5 RCT-5 '02-03
Aco 1st CEB attached to 1/4 11th MEU '03-'05

I also went to MCES in
'96 basic
'02 Journey Men's
'04 PSS-14 Instructors Course

Maybe we knew each other back in the day?

Don't look like we crossed paths. Other than recruit training (98), I was a winger! MWSS-271 at Cherry Point (98-02). I used to love driving my Soobs on the tank trails!

I'm still lookin for the keys to the Hummer!

Oh the memories... time to watch Heartbreak Ridge, good ole Gunny Highway!

Don't know him, is he with MWSS 271? The DI/Recruit duties suck. I'd rather be a DI tho. Always loved to abuse authority! I was at Cherry Point my whole enlistment, I had a back operation that stopped me from a couple deployments, and Oki. So I seen a lot of people come and go. There a lot of Marines I've ran with that have been at the same units you've been. I'm sure we know a few of the same people!

Are you still on or did you just get out in '04?

Here is my ID 10 T form Sir!

I can't remember which unit he was with. I only remember that he was based out of Cherry Point.

I'm still in but I'm on leave...got back from Iraq (2nd time) not to long ago. I'm in Aco 1st CEB but when I get done with leave I'll switch to Bravo which supports 5th Marines. I might have to go another round in Iraq again but I might volunteer to go recruiting or DI instead. 3 tours to Iraq is kind of pushing my luck.

While your back there ask the SSgt for the PRC-E6.
