He's on my team at work. He just described Tiec Canh(blood soup). I kid you now, here is the recipe.
1)Take the warm blood of a goat and mix it with wine or whisky so it's freezing point is lowered. 2)Get a big bowl/pan and put a layer of fried peanuts on the bottom. Next put a layer of cooked vegetables. Next put a layer of raw vegetables. Next put a layer of cooked meats(preferably goat). 3)Take the blood wine stuff and pour it over the mixture. Let sit for half an hour. 4)Next put it in the freezer and let it freeze Serving: Cut into small pieces and serve "like a cake"(his own words). He tells me it is a vietnamese speciality.... Oh yea, he has also eaten squirels, small birds(robins, etc), snakes, and other crap I've never heard of Did you know that you can eat three parts of the banana tree: 1)Banana(like sold everywhere) 2)Banana flowers 3)Small banana tree before it gets to big(boil the whole thing and eat it) Oh yea, he grew up in Vietnam. |

Chorizo's interesting stuff, indeed, and it's not from Asia.
Tripe is one of the more disgusting things I've eaten out here. They also flush the intestenes out after they slaughter a sheep and use them for different dishes. Outside of texture differences that are certainly notable, it all pretty much tastes the same. |

12345. youre ignorant. period. people eat different stuff around the world. As was said, the Europeans eat some crazy crap also (just to give you a "civilized" comparison). Anyway, no real point in flaming you. Just get educated. Travel a little too. You might learn something. |

Why is consuming blood weird? It's in your freakin' steak!
I'm actually kind of surprised it had not become a mixed drink over here. Who knows what the hell is in cow blood now though... |

Now with 100% more pics.
I guess this is a duck varient of the dish I mentioned in my first post. It's not that eating blood is strange, it the preperation that is weird to my American cultured brain. Oh, he also told me that Viagra is a rip-off. Just drink a mix of wine and goats blood and you are good to go! ![]() |

They have a ridiculous population problem over there, now theyre are only allowed 1 kid per family. My dad came from china/hong kong and his family had 16 kids, there is a 40 year age gap between the oldest kid and the youngest. My Moms family, also from hong kong has 8 kids in the family. You can talk all the crap you want about how everythings an aphro to the chinese, but you do have to admit, theyve got something going there if my grandpa ate all that stuff and kept all 3 of his wives constantly knocked up for a 40 year period. |

Ive heard 2 bananas and a heiniken and youre good to go. Not sure where I'd find goats blood at 1am on a saturday night. Bananas and a Heiniken, thats doable.
My mom tricked me when I was a kid, told me this stuff was pork pudding or something like that. Later on she told me it was pork blood cubes. When I hear that, I instantly think of eating a scab or a blood clot, pretty gross. Never thought about it with a rare steak before though. |
