Default WRX ride

Ok, this is kinda a newbie question, but I wanted some opinions on the ride of a WRX. I just test drove a WRX wagon with 4K on the clock. It was VERY stiff. As in a speed bump feels like some one hit you with a bat stiff. Is this normal or did the previous owner do something to it?

Mine has about 4500, but I don't find it overly stiff. It seems a little bit stiffer than the 2001 RS. No problems with speed bumps. Does it look like it's been lowered?

I do like the difference that my sway bars make, though.

It didn't seem lowered but that doesn't mean jack. You can't tell by looking at it that my SHO has been lowered and the springs are rated for a 1" front drop. I guess it could also be that it was used for a freeway car and so hasn't really used much of the suspention travel to break in the springs.

Uh-Oh, Are you going to show up in Prescott with power going to 4 wheels? I would be scared to see what you could do with some traction. You threw your SHO around quite well last year, some of the best runs to watch, aside from the rental!

The ride is pretty stiff, but nothing like getting hit with a bat. I've driven down some seriously bumpy and rutty roads at speed and didn't feel like the car was getting abused.
