got engine check light

hey guys! i was driving a few days ago and my engine check light went on. i was like "ah.... ok?"

. i was scared that my was going to die

. i took a look under the hood and everything looks ok. i went back in the car and looked at the dash and noticed that my km was at 62453km. i remembered that subies had to get a check up at 62km

. did you guys get a check light when the car was due for service?? oh ya what do i have to do anyways for the 62 check up? lol i never did any check up on my car at all! still runs smooth.... i think? lol

I know that some beemers and mercedes have a mileage related reset that gets those rich a$$es to go spend their disposable incomes on getting them reset but I dont believe subes do that.

well I'm at 72k now and haven't ever gone to a dealership for a 'check up' or 'servicing' since I got the car- no CEL

go get your code read from a mechanic or something and then report back, then we can figure out what's really going on

What downpipe are you running? Or do you have both Uppipe and Downpipe without any EM?

There is no MIL/CEL for servicing.

If you are in the Langley area I can read the code for you and clear it. Any good mechanic can do it too. Or the dealer!

Your CEL is definitely related to your pipes. Do you have a flashing CRUISE light as well? You probably have either a cat inefficiency code or front O2 sensor code.

doesnt a flashing cruise happen on STIs only?

doesn't he have an accessport? If so, doesn't the AP get rid of those codes?

I hate to say it, but this thread is a waste of time.
I see a lot of guesses, but until you have the code read, you'll never know.

Read the code, then get back to us.
It's the only way to know exactly what the problem is.

my light on too..just disconected the battary and conected again..the light just off

Cobb AP does not support BOV and intakes.

maybe it cause i keep on changing from stock BOV to my HKS. no guys i don thave a AP so what should i do now? i did like what 2turbo did. i took off the battary too and the light was gone.

If you like, I can meet up with you to test out the Innova scan tool. I got this tool but it doesn't read my 02' car. I wanna see if it read GC cars. North Burnaby is close enough.

Anyways, so without any Engine Management, you are not really a stage 1, correct?
And by "who's", he meant, if it's Vishnu, Cobb, RocketRally, TurboXS, etc, and not a specific individual.

Any mechanic shop with a code scanner. Hell, I'm sure alot of people on the board here have them. It takes roughly 30 seconds.
