Default Pics of my Steel Gray '06 WRX TR after Wash, Clay Bar & Wax...

I've had my car for exactly three weeks to the day and decided to spend 3 hours in the cold today giving my her some TLC... (temps were 42 when I started and had dropped to 36 when I left)

My TR is still stock and the only change I've made was to swap tail lights with an '05 STI owner.

First couple pics were taken at the car wash, and the last few along a country road on my drive back home.

Now my wife is hassling me to clay bar her car as well...

Absolutely. The factory clear coat on most new cars has a slight grainy feel to the touch. Clay barring really helps to smoothen out the finish before harmful air pollutants get into those small imperfections and ruin the paint (making it dull in appearance).

It's also a great way to get rid of road tar and bug stains!

It's the same color - however, my TR is Steel Gray.

Okay now I'm confused.

There is CGM - Crystal Grey Metalic
SGM - Steel Grey Metalic
And normal silver?

Correct on the first two. The bright silver found on the '02-'05 WRXs is no longer offered...

Screamin' chicken is the bird that was on front of the 1979-1980 Firebird Trans Ams. Think Smokey and the Bandit.

Car looks good, I love that color.

Please tell me you bucket washed it before the clay-bar and wax. I noticed the touch-free car wash in the background

Thanks.

That car wash facility has an automatic car wash as well as two self-service bays. I spent about 8-9 minutes in one of those bays cleaning every inch of the car myself. I never use the automatic wash...
