Have a Nice Day? Noise from Rear Diff!!!

Hi people, I just change the diff oil to the Redlind 75W90(Not 75W90NS,I use the 75W90NS for the Tranny)
While I driving on the Hwy, I could here noise from the rear, That havne't happened before!!! Any problems??

It's normal.

Redline oils have a lot fewer noise-deadening additives than mainstream motor oil so whatever (diff, trans, engine) you put it in will run a little louder than before.

You may want to consider a thicker viscosity gear oil if the diff is really making a lot of noise.

IME, heavier Redline fluids won't be any quieter. My rear diff made a little more noise after switching to Redline, but either it is gone, or I can't notice it anymore.

I believe it is the former.

Oh, and FWIW, to folks who haven't changed their fluid; after less than 15,000 miles, the fluid which drained from my rear diff was in bad shape. Black, and nastier-than-usual smelling.

I think a pre-emptive diff fluid change is an even better idea now, than I did before I saw the fluid.
