Default PLX R500 Wideband Sensor?

Anyone use this? Seems like an awesome piece of equipment, I was hoping somebody has real world exeperience with it. Thoughts, comments?

What sort of input are you looking for? I've used the Zeitronix ZT2, Innovate LM-1, Innovate LC-1, PLX Devices M-300 USB, and PLX Devices R-500.

Did it work well, worth the money etc? Any problems with it? Seems like a great buy, knock sensor, wideband, EGT all in one!

I've just finished installing this R-500 today. Went pretty smooth. Still have to install the EGT sensor in the header. Otherwise, ready to rock and roll. Tons of features. I even installed the G-sensor. With that, you get to measure hp and tq too. But you've got to dial in the settings to get accurate readings.
Its pretty cool that it measures speed, rpm, afr, egt, knock (and when you're tuning, you can plug in a set of headphones and listen for knock), boost, and of course the data logging.
I mounted it in front of the ashtray, and ran the cables down the passenger side of the tunnel.
The only hic-up so far is that it doesn't seem to read very accurately in kph. But mph works perfectly.
Haven't really explored it all yet, but this is definitely a two-man operation to get it all set up. One to drive around, and the other to dial in the settings and parameters.

It came as no surprise to us that the first thing we found is that the car (Cobb stg 2.5) is running super rich at WOT. AFR was around 10!! But we've got Street Tuner ready to go, so we'll dial it in soon enough.

You'll be able to read more about it in Modified Magazine either next month or the month after.

i've had the r-500 in my car for bout 4 months now.imo its one of the best w/b out there.loaded w/ features.and also PLx releases new software to up-grade the unit.not much other w/b do that.the only thing is that the r-500 will not werk with the subaru knock sensor.

I don't understand, whats the problem with 10 afr at wot?

Target afr is probably 10 or maybe even 9 in that rpm/load cell if its at high rpm and high load. If its high rpm and light load its probably more like 12.xx at that cell.

You can lean it out with a wideband a bit but I would stick to less than 11.

There's no problem if you're just looking for a really safe tune. The problem is running richer than 10.0:1 is too rich for optimal horsepower production. Most tuners shoot for an AFR of between 11 & 12 to 1 depending on what they're trying to get, mods on the car, etc...

To the people who've used this, can you post up some logs you've taken with the software? A local user has this and is looking for an easy way to integrate the log w/ a UTEC log. How is the information output? Easily importable into Excel?
