Default 590hp Stock Block STI

With this car we have a complete built long block from Cobb ready to go in, so we decided to push the stock block that is still in the car as far as we could. To much suprise the car kept on making power, up until we reached 33psi. At 33psi the car wouldn't make anymore power, we were locked at 590hp and couldn't go any further. At this point it seems the heads are holding us back, and I am very interested in seeing how much power the new setup is going to make.

Now I have a bunch of videos to post from the runs, but the will not be posted till later tonight. When we get back from the track, yes we are going to trailer this car to the track like it sits and run it. If it blows up so be it... lol...

Stay tuned..

Doug

Run#2 is a stock 2004 STI

Great Job ! I think you guys should aim for peak torque rather than peak hp.

Which track are you taking it to? When? I was thinking about going to Commerce tonight. I'm hoping that seeing some fast subies will get me off my azz so I can finish putting my motor together.

Why is it that the STI Kingpin tuned with a GT40r made 565whp at 33psi, and this one magically made 590 at the same boost on a GT35r which flows nowhere near the 40r on the turbine side or the compressor side?

Yessss... The Puerto Rico attitude. I did care about mine a little but during runs I closed my eyes and though happy thoughts.

, funny thing was, we never managed to blow this motor. It actually made more power than my cobb stg2 block/heads.

My stock motor is also stronger than my built block. Did you figure out why your motor is producing less horsepower?

It might have been that it was 113 deg. outside. maybe if it was cooler out "like say 60 or70 deg."
