Post Changing dash light bulb

A friend of mine has a 99 Subaru Outback GT. The light for his heater/ac controls has gone out. We could get the cup holder out, but couldn't really see where to go from there. So can anyone describe how to do it, or know of a website that does?

Thanks.

Capro,

I've had this problem too. you need to take the console out, and on the back of it, there's a little plate that slides off (up I believe) there's are brown or blue plastic looking things with a + on it. twist it, and that should take the bulb off. They're long or short stubby ones. And they are $$$ for a dinky little dude.
