Default USDM 2.5L STi shortblock vs EJ22T Shortblock

I am looking to replace a blown shortblock in my 2002 WRX. Was pretty much set on on a USDM 2.5L block, but now am thinking about the EJ22T shortblock. What do you guys think? I am going with a clipped TD06 20G for a turbo and don't really have a HP goal in mind. I Just wants gobs of power. Any thoughts?
