Default Recommend a Tire (Summer, Winter, or A/S) for TN/VA

Hey all.

I've been living in the mid-south for the past few years and I'm going to be needing a new set of tires fairly soon. My Falken Ziex 512s are really starting to show some wear, in addition to some irregular wear characteristics on the outside shoulder. I'm looking for a tire comparable in price, treadwear, and performance. However, I'm trying to decide if I'd be better off getting a pure summer tire, since it rarely snows more than once or twice in TN and I commute to school on foot.

Sorry that this is so complicated. I will be trading in my 02 RS this spring for a 06 LGT sedan. Thankfully, the 06 LGT will probably have the same 5x100 bolt pattern. I could use the Tarmac IIs I have for a winter wheel and put snow tires on them, since I suspect that I will be going to law school in VA...however, I don't know how well the winter tires will perform in the mild TN winters. I've heard great things online and personally about Nokian WRs and was considering these as well.

What do y'all think I should do? Local advice from TN/VA would be welcome, as well. Any place with a mild winter would do, though
