Default 16x7, 48mm offset okay for wagon?

Okay, I looked at the offset information thread and have a question.

I wanted to pick up a set of 16x7 Rota Slipstreams with a 48mm offset and 225/50/16 tires for my 2002 wrx wagon.

Is this offset okay? The thread noted says 50-53 is good. I dont want to wear down my wheel bearings. Also note that I will be driving on these rims and tires VERY hard as they will be my dedicated auto-x set.

Will this setup rub at all on a stock suspension? How much can I lower the car before I experience rubbing issues? I am concerned since there is less clearance on the wagon.
