The Axis stage 2 - - - 2.5 SB.
Axis Power Stage 2 Motor 2.5L Subaru

Model: AXISSTG2WRX List: $2,649.99

New to the United States in 2003 was the Subaru WRX STi. It comes stock with a 2.5 Liter semi-closed deck motor, and strong cast internals. The block will drop right in a WRX as it sits, but we offer this motor with some upgrades for your piece of mind.

The Stage 2 Axis Power Racing Motor consists of a very strong block with forged pistons. It has 25% increase in displacement over your WRX shortblock and can withstand far more abuse. This would be a perfect upgrade for someone looking to make serious power without the serious price tag.

Stage 2 Components:
- 2.5 L STi Semi-Closed Deck Shortblock
- Stock Sleeve Liners
- Stock USDM 2.5 L STi Crankshaft
- Stock USDM 2.5 L STi Connecting Rods
- CP Forged Pistons
- 8000 Rev Limit Recommended

All I know right now is steam was coming out of the exhaust when I last drove it. Someone told me it could be other. i.e. [good] still leaking turbo coolant line, [bad] or a warped head. Although I don't think it got that hot????

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=935219

I'm thinking I should fix it. Then be able to sell a car that I know is OK.

Best

The SB was cracked in a couple of places. I just bought an sti SB which Europsort chipped in 1/2 for.
Ron Williams at Axis is sending me Forged pistons no charge.
pdx has their own dyno now and Doc Bailey called and said he and pdx will take care of the tune, no worries.

Some very good people are working on the car.

We did find out that the Roos Trans, [almost] no slip diff. wears out the clutch disc in a hurry. May go to Kevlar???$
I should have the rex going by early January.

Same as listed prior, except we are going with an sti sized clutch and Kevlar disc. The timing belt won't be off so a conservative tune should put down 345whp safely. I don't know how much the water injection that is installed but does not have a map yet will add.

It will be ready by early January as I will need to break in the Kevlar clutch 500 miles. Then dyno tune. I will not tune it for race fuel or part toluene. Go back and look at the mods please. It was 310whp and 310 lb torque with the timing belt off and timing very retarded..

We are waiting for the forged pistons from Axis racing to put into the new 2.5 block. Am upgrading the clutch Disc while it's handy.

It will be running by late January hopefully. I probably will still be selling it. Around 16 grr obo. I have invested more than that in mods. Plus it still has only 35K on it.

It will also have a killer tune with about 6 maps, from conservative to water injection. Maybe Water injection w/104 Octane. I plan on using the conservative tune. The UTEC on top of an EcuTek has ten maps and lauch boost if you dare.

I am asking $18,500. The CP forged pistons and new clutch are here. My builder is putting it together this Sat. 1-25-07. I will then break in the SB then take the car to pdxtuning.com in Portland. It will have about 8 maps from mild to wild. Plus the Apexi AVC-R that let's you adjust boost, etc. on the fly. All the mods are uber quality. I may be getting a new set of F1's as soon as I get it out of the shop.
It should be mild 92 Octane 320whp to 390+ with water injection and 104 Octane. [Conservative]. Plus the UTEC has launch control if you dare.

I'd like to buy a small sporty car that is not a road race monster.

Been driving my 90hp? 94 Escort while the car has been in the shop. I just pull to the side when someone wants to pass. Listen to espn or NPR. Not that I am eager to sell. I may just drive around with a for sale sign and hope no-one wants to buy.

Cheers
