Default piston slap...still worth modding?

my car has be deemed with piston slap. I had NA plans for it, however this is kind of throwin me off. Since i know piston slap is kind of notorious with subarus, do i just check it off as normal and keep modding, or should i find a nice used shortblock somewhere? Is it worth dumping money into an engine with piston slap?
