Default I am so angry right now... XM radio antenna scratched my new STI ***pictures***

I just got an XM radio installed tonight and the XM antenna is this weak magnet that goes on top of your roof. As I was driving home from the installation place I heard this semi-quiet clanging noise on my roof but didn't think anything of it since it was raining. Well I got home, pull in the garage, and what do I see, the XM radio antenna hanging over the top of the roof vane with the cord pulled out from inside the roof. The weak magnet in the antenna wasn't even able to hold it in place, and when it came off it left some nasty scratches that you'll see in the pictures below.

I don't believe the antenna itself caused the scratches, I think the installation guy just put the antenna on the roof without washing that small area of the roof and getting rid of any dirt or debris before putting the magnetic antenna on there, so when I was driving the antenna slid back off the roof dragging dirt particles underneath it leaving these nasty scratches.

If I had known it was a weak magnet that held it in place, I would have gottem some quality doublesided 3M tape or something to hold it in place. If driving home at no more than 40-45 mph caused it to come off like this, I can't imagine how bad it would have been if I went on the highway at 75+ mph.

Now onto my questions:

1) What is the BEST way to get rid of these scratches?

2) Once I get the scratches out, what is the BEST way to secure the antenna in place on the roof? Is there some sort of special glue or adhesive, or is there some sort of all-weather double sided tape that would work well and hold it in place? I'm never going to go 150+ MPH in my car, but I want the peace of mind that the antenna will stay put at those types of speeds. What's the best way to achieve this?

3) Should I blame the install guy for not cleaning the area before putting on the magnet or should I blame XM radio themselves for having such a crappy design with a weak magnet?

And without further ado, here are the pictures:
