Default why is my clutch pedal so heavy???

I recently purchased a 93 SE-R and the clutch has hardly resistance when pushed in (It feels good). My BE on the other hand has an extremely difficult clutch to depress (It feels bad). I havn't owned any other cars so I have nothing else to compare to. Are all BE cluthes like this?

i don't know why your particular clutch is heavy, but i actually like the heavy feel on my car. the ACT Street Disc is probably the culprit as compared to my buddy's OEM 2002 wrx clutch.

Mine is moderately heavy, but it has a good feel. I think it's alright. Let yourself get used to it, you might like the feedback the weight provides after a while.

i was used to it, ive had my legacy for 3 years. its just when i got my sentra and drove it for a week, then went back to the legacy, it felt much crappier, and the sentra was 15 years old and 1000 dollars!

i don't think the legacy clutch is heavy. Instead, the honda and nissan clutches are too light. American cars all have the heavier legacy-style clutch, so it isn't the subaru...

What's your current milage ? I had the same heavy feeling when I first got the car, but later I found out its time to replace clutch. After replacement, it feels really light, just like my friend's 06 WRX clutch. Hope this would help.

I did notice a lighter clutch on mine after I had the clutch and flywheel replaced. I just thought I was imagining it though...

Well, around 115k, it might be time for you to consider replacing clutch. It saves gas milage too. After I got my clutched replaced, my gas milage increase from 17 to 23 now.

Yes, the clutch pedel does get lighter after "OEM" replacement comparing with worn clutch assembly. Did you notice any improvement in terms of gas milage ?

No, but after adding the cobb flywheel, well, I've been tearing on my car even more. All the full-throttle mania doesn't help gas mileage...
