Pull the rear seat. It's under the right (passenger) side access cover.
Good luck! Myles |

you know it is true that the forum has gotten so large that successful searches are becoming MORE difficult rather than easier due to overwhelming numbers of results jamming the search function, especially on common keywords.
Go easy. |

tasq - I hadn't thought of that, but I guess you are right that it's snowballing.
Just try searching for "clutch install" - when I did it, it never gives a result because it goes on essentially forever. |

Two easy ways to narrow down search results-
1) The word "and" is required if you want to search for more then one word. Ie- "clutch install" will only search for clutch while "clutch and install" will search for both words. If you want to search for the words clutch and install, you must put the "and" between them. If you get too many results for your liking, adding another "and", like "clutch and install and how" might narrow down the results, since it would look for those three words. 2) Searching just thread titles is a search option, and it can also help reduce the amount of search results. Ie- There are probably less threads with clutch install in the title then in the thread, and the search lets ya just search through titles if ya want.... peace Last edited by hippy; 11-30-2006 at 10:02 AM. |

This thread is the first one that comes up if ya type "install and fuel and pump" in the search. There are two links that I posted above which have pictures and directions on how to install a fuel pump. Is it a bad thing if people find this thread when trying to find out how to install a fuel pump? Now if I type the word walbro
, this thread will come up when people add that to their search making this thread that much easier to find for people who want to install a walbro fuel pump. I bet if someone did a search on how to search, this thread would come up too. That's the whole point. The key is knowing how to look for what you want.peace Last edited by hippy; 11-30-2006 at 10:41 AM. |

And if all else fails use Google's search function and limit the search to only this forum. With their advanced search features you can search for an exact phrase with ease.
Also if you limit your search to threads with a large number of responses you are more likely to get threads with detailed discussion in them --- I usually start a 10 or 20 reponses. Searching is an aquired skill --- the more you use it the better you get at it. Think about words or phrases that are very likely to be related to the issue involved like in the case of fuel pumps, "inspection plate" "filter sock" etc. Larry |

well, since he said remove the rear seat, he means ALL of it.
![]() My advice is this. if during the course of the install, you can't remove the rear seat, you should stop immediately and have a professional install the pump. ![]() |

If you have a wagon you have to remove all the black foam, then its by behind the pax side rear seat.

I love this board, I hardly ever have to post because 9 out of 10 times I find my answer in the archives. Seriously.
For something that is a quick answer, like "remove the back seat to install the fuel pump" then it is silly not to at least give that much information, and then bitch at them for not searching. |
