Went rotated? Tired of the stock power steering lines?
Well, I think I have a solution!
Ever since we installed the Perrin rotated turbo kit on my car last winter, the stock power steering lines have always looked like ass and never fit correctly. So after seeing a few cars on here that had steel braided lines made for the high pressure line off the power steering pump, I decided it was time to give it a shot.
So my buddy and I went to Summit Racing tonight and this is what we came up with.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku - This the adapter that goes into the power steering pump. It goes from a 14x1.5 to a -6AN fitting.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku - This a -6AN fitting to a -6AN line with a 90* bend on it that comes off of the fitting above.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku - 6 feet of braided SS teflon line - this is capable of handling the higher pressures in a power steering system comparted to regular braided SS rubber hose. We only used about 4 feet of it and will probably use less once the motor is in the car and we can finish mocking it up. You need a whiz wheel or a big set of cutters to cut this stuff. I taped it to keep it from fraying and used a Dremel with a cutoff wheel.

All of this cost ~$77 after tax and about an hours worth of work. We put everything together, I blew into it and it seemed to not leak, but I won't know for sure until the engine is back in the car and I start it up.
Also, I bought a few feet of 3/8" fuel injection hose to go from the bottom port on the power steering resevoir to the other port on the steering rack.
All and all, it seems like it should work and I'm happy with the way it turned out. We took some pictures tonight and my buddy will download them tomorrow and I will post them up.
Just trying to clean up the overly cluttered Subaru engine bay.
