I circled it in the picture. Anyone know what type of bracket that is and where it mounts to? I haven't seen that bracket on a subaru before, looks pretty close to the one AC bent tensioner on the WRX but is a slightly different shape.

thanks for the pictures. I am not talking about the idler pulley (already have one ) I am talking about the bracket/adjustment they use for the alternator. The piece they use looks customs as it has a L shape to it and looks to mount to another solid black piece behind it.

bump for pics of hood modifications when keeping AC system. If no hood modification, were solid motor mounts necessary to keep IC pipe from rubbing hood during engine torquing. I want to atempt this modification and I want to clear the alternator and ac compressor.

Up and over, the belt for the Alt is inbetween sizes for subaru's and it was so tight that u had to put it on the pully then mount the pully to the alt. once it was mounted then u adjust it correctly. We had to cut out a relief area for the front IC tube as it rubbed just a little. I think harder engine mounts would have taken care of most of it.

That looks like you kept the AC and relocated the alternator.
