Well as many of you know my baby FXT is gone and I haven't slept good since. Yeah, brought that pain on myself but there is a lot of house projects this year that include landscaping the ever living crap out of my backyard etc so a truck was much needed this year. Anyway, so after scouring the internet looking for forums all I've found was a couple of sites and there seems to be such a lack of good info out there. Anybody know of a good reputable street truck site and any local shops that are good for trucks that don't sell spinnas and chrome grillz but have "real" performance in mind? Yes, I would most likely go to F.A.T no matter what but Robert prolly doesnt' have time to build a completely new exhaust etc for this thing. Anyone?

It's an 07' chevy 6.0 Vortec Max, just wish it were the new 6.2L instead. Yeah, maybe custom. Thinking of something side exit in front of the rear wheels.

I went crew cab due to the baby needing leg room in his car seat and it's just a 1500 short bed new body style but big enough for what we'll be needing. So Dyno chip tunes these things? Is there a programmer out there that will take a custom tune like an access port that can still have a base map for the visits to the dealership?

there is a guy who put a single turbo and fmic on a z71 GMC with a 5.7 - retarded p0w4r
BEFORE - you buy anything - run down there and talk to keith about where you want to be HP wise and he can steer u in the correct direction my route was based on gaining milage and towing power |

Sounds good, I'll give those guys a call. Yeah fuel mileage is nice right now and I'd like to keep it that way, but more oomph would be nice as well. It's pretty good on the highway for ripping past other trucks with ease but there is a few flat spots I can feel in the power curve that may either be tranny related or some other issue that a good tune may resolve. Plus it would be nice to have a truck in the 14's for the 1/4 without any warrenty issues if possible. Oh and a turbo kit would be nice but that's at least two years away if it happens...

what ur feeling is the converter slip - tune flattens that all out and gives 110% better response - will drive more like a car ![]() |

Keep in mind I just got back from Pinetop yesterday so she's filthy but here's some JDM shots for ya.
![]() ![]() ![]() Now, trunk monkey is happy cause he's no longer in the trunk however he may go in the bed if he doesn't help the handling of the rear end soon. ![]() More fake wood from a genuine fake wood tree than you could shake a fake stick at! ![]() Yeah, kinda thought that was what was going on. Sounds like a tune FTW. |

That paper has begged for it again, and again. Lame local newsletter crap filled with "what do we do about the coyotes th4y ar3 stealin our interwebz"!
I wanted to slam it on good springs etc. but the wife refuses to be seen in a slammed truck. Relates to my days of going to car shows with my GTI and she saw all the B-Boys(popped collaz) on bags with primer and crap and she is now traumatized. So, to me it looks good but I'll have to settle for a leveling kit and a better set of wheels and tires. Maybe later I can prove that springs and a good handling truck are FTW. |

" like I'm a total cheap skate for not getting the 4x4 I'll never use. ![]() I do like the Z71 package though, it's got way thicker sway bars and better shocks so if I do slam it, the shocks may be able to stay. |

hahaha... i always laugh when i see huge lifted ass trucks..... unless they're all pre-runnered out and are actually off-road worthy should explain to the wifey that the whole point to a truck is to haul stuff in the bed.... making it as low as possible would make moving stuff a lot easier |
