does anyone else have problems with their hybrid?

About a year ago my 2.0 liter blew up, so I swapped in a 2.5 liter short block and mated it to my 2.0 liter heads. It has never really run right. I get boost creep, it doesn't idle right, it feels jerky and/or shaky. I feel like I need an EWG to fix the creep problem, but I also feel like part of my problems could be in trying to mate that head to that block. I'm looking for a simple fix to a complex problem I guess. Has anyone else had these types of problems? How did you fix it or did you? Would it make sense to get and STi head, or would cams work just as well? I would like to have good factory like power. I'm not interested in making 800 hp, I just want my car to run right and to have enough power. What all would be required to make it more like a factory tuned/engineered EJ257? Obviously the head, but what else? How are people controlling AVCS? Is it time for me to just get full stand alone EM? This is so ****ing frustrating... I wish I would have just rebuilt my 2 liter.
