About 8" high, and I have no idea what the load rating is.

What are you looking to carry?

my downhill mountain bike is fifty something pounds. i go riding with a few people and i thought you could fit four bikes on a roof rack; but at almost 200 pounds total.... i worry that the rack won't hold the weight.
