![]() Not sure what is going on. IAM 11 is not good. I compared my current map to another stage 2 map from osecuroms and my base timing is way lower than the base timing map from osecuroms. I have ny KC normalized at 10.9. The gas I use is good. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If my ROM needs to be posted, let me know. Mods: Decatted DP, Catless UP and thats pretty much it for the exhaust except for an STi axel-back

Did you change your base timing when you normalized the advance map so you ended up with the same overall timing? Really no reason to normalize the advance map anyway. In fact, depending on how you did it, you can cause the IAM to be more erratic at low loads. This is because there is a minimum advance map threshold for rough correction learning of ~3.9 degrees and if the entire advance map is set to 10.9 degrees you increase the chance of rough correction learning (IAM) at low loads (when false knock is a greater possibility and where advance map value would be 0 or less than 3.9 degrees normally). You can also log 'feedback knock correction' and 'fine learning knock correction', so it is not necessary to normalize the map to determine correction due to knock.

What kind of fuel are you running? I've found Shell takes the IAM down pretty quickly on my car.
It looks as though your IAM has been at 11 for a while? Did you start it at 8 or 16? Could be working it's way up still. However looking at your overall timing, it doesn't look too bad. Knock correction is going down a bit, that can happen but it's usually because of knock or false knock. Now if your IAM was 16 then dropped to 11, you'd need to work on the map some more. Need more logs. |

This is one of the reasons I stopped flattening the KC table. low amounts of knock at partial throttle can cause huge downfalls in IAM.
You could be experiencing the effects of winter fuel too. Get in contact with me and I'll transfer your map into a new one without flattened KC. |

Thanks for all the feedback guys!
That would make sense what Teacups said. Would this have anything to do with the fact that I tune a particular map based on WOT runs and higher loads? My wife drives the car daily and is MUCH more conservative with the "go fast" pedal. Could the fact that the car stays in a low load/rpm state affect IAM as much as high/rpm and load? When I normalized that KC map, I did alter my base timing to make the total timing the same. I did that just so it would be easier for me to see timing being pulled in logs. Master--I'll get in touch with you. Hope everyone is having a great holiday and stay safe thanks--Brock |
