what are you planning to do with it? Is it your dd or a track car. Usually people do suspension first because that is the greatest improvement. I like the list but I would add swaybar and endlinks.

I would get some sort of E.M. if you haven't already. You will want to tune after you put in your cams or at least a re-flash. Maybe a lightweight crank pulley or a light weight flywheel if you doing a clutch. I heard people have had issues when doing both.

sounds like afun car.. just curious about what EL headers you are going to get? +1 to the tune.. it should make the engine mods feel like they get twice the gains as they did before the tune.

Yes i hear that also, that the car gets out of time , im goin to do pully is much cheaper that buying a flywheel and less work.

for E.M dont have the money to go that big,But i hear that i can also use a Apex to do a littel more tuning to the car.

The EL-Headers i dont know yet im looking around to see which one is the best one.
any clue on that also help out alot.

Thanks

EL headers for a 99... im not sure. TWE's are the best im just about positive about that. But i think for a 99 you MIGHT have other options unlike 05+ guys looking for EL headers. maybe OBX has some EL's to fit a 99? I just looked at TWE's ite and they dont specifically say what years their headers fit, or what engines (i.e. ej25 ej22, etc). id give em a call, they are cool. And will make you custom set if they dont have yours in production. they are very expensive. www.techworkseng.com looks like OBX just makes a header for the 2.5L motor and i dont know what teh 99RS has in it. http://redhat3.admarkonline.com/~obxracing/index.php good luck.

twe is lessening their production of el-headers. check with sam at xcceleration.com for any questions. he knows his **** and will be glad to help. i would stick with uel-headers for sound. the guys at xcceleration don't like the twe's... if u do a turbo conversion, they have custon headers that are "almost" EL, but not. ha ask sam for more details and for anything else u can think of. good luck,

hey PA- you know why they dont like the TWE's? I thought they were by far the best header for performance.

I drive a 99 RS.
my engine mods:
ram air intake (injen cai on the way)
borla uel header
random tech custom trackpipe w/ 9" resonator
2.5" catback w/ obx N1 style muffler
and a whole lot of routine maintenance.

It pulls pretty good with this setup. I wish I could go cams like you, but I need a new clutch. I'm going Exedy Stage 1 Sport Clutch, with an Exedy lightweight flywheel.

As far as more mods for your car, if you're going to have the engine pulled apart, you might as well go with some nice forged internals. Also, the Cobb high lift valvetrain would be a great mod. You can get a lightweight pulley from lots of different places. I personally would go with the Perrin crank pulley. It's not underdriven and only costs like 120 bucks. subaruwrxparts.com has the GFB 3 pulley kit if you want to lighten up all of them.

Oh, and look into upgrading your rear differential. The 2000's and 2001's got an LSD. We 1999 owners didn't.

Hope that helps a little!

daily driving a setup like this with the spicy cams, El headers.. exhaust.. could be kinda rough.. I guess it depends on your personal preferences.. should be a quick car.. I couldn't deal with that around town though personally..
