So I looked it up.

Thomas Kuchel ('28) - U.S. Senator from California (1953-1969)
Bobby Hatfield ('58) - Singer and member of The Righteous Brothers
Sharron Backus ('63) - Head coach of UCLA Bruins softball from 1975-1996, led Lady Bruins to nine national championships
Jim Fassel ('67) - Former head coach New York Giants
Gerry Mullins ('67) - Football player with USC and Pittsburgh Steelers. Started four Super Bowls at right guard for the Steelers.
Alyson Reed ('76) - Tony Award-nominated actress (Cabaret, A Chorus Line, High School Musical)
Brian Noble ('80) - Football player with Arizona State and Green Bay Packers, 1985-1993.
Tony Burnett ('87) - Famous guitar teacher and musician
Tony Kanal ('88) - Bassist of No Doubt
Reuben Droughns ('96) - NFL running back with New York Giants
Jorge Flores ('07) - Chivas USA football player

Fassel and Mullins were in my class ('67). I knew Mullins a little, don't remember Fassel at all, strangely enough. I know who Rueben Droughns and Bobby Hatfield are of course. Don't know about any of the others.

I must say it was kind of cool having the Righteous Brothers come to the pep rallies for the big football games.

On December 26th, 2007, Prior agreed to a contract with the San Diego Padres. It is a $1 million, one-year, incentive-laden deal.[3] Prior will return to his hometown, where he achieved great success as a prep athlete.

So does most of the country! Or did you mean "across" in the other direction, in which case you live in Hawaii or Guam.

The wikipedia list of my High School is horribly poluted with retards from my graduating class who decided to list their minor accomplishments. Oh it is pathetic.

However I did find out that the Grateful Dead played there in '69 and the Dead Kennedy's played there in '78. I had no idea.

And it confirmed (as much as Wikipedia can confirm something) that the Mythbusters "escape from the underwater car" episode was filmed in the diving pool.

In 2001 the band Of A Revolution (O.A.R.), which includes four alumni, performed at the James A. Coles Field before they reached the Billboard charts.[10]

Also in 2001, President George W. Bush visited Wootton and spoke with the senior class about a Veterans Day program. [11]

In early 2005, the Wootton cheerleading squad was caught in a scandal when pictures of cheerleaders in uniform in provocative poses made their way to pornographic sites. The story made the national media, including the Washington Post. [12]

Fairport High School

Only one notable alumni...Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

I remember my senior year I actually met him one on one by accident. He was at the school visiting and our principal awkwardly forced him to do a series of speeches for the students. I left class to take a piss and I just happened to walk into him coming around the corner. Shook his hand, joked about the principal, told him I liked a bunch of his movies etc.etc.

He was a really small dude...kind of creeped me out. And he seemed high as a kite.

This was also in the wiki for my high school:

2007-08 Tragedies
In 2007, Fairport High School suffered several tragedies.

[edit] Teen Deaths
In August 2006, Fairport student Alexander Ciarico drowned while swimming in the Erie Canal.

In March 2007, Fairport student Natalie Giambattista died from cancer.[2]

[edit] Traffic accident
On June 26, 2007, five recent graduates from Fairport High School died in a traffic accident. The girls were traveling to one of the girl's parents' Keuka Lake camp when their SUV crashed head-on into a tractor trailer.[3] Hannah Congdon, Bailey Goodman, Meredith McClure, Sara Monnat and Katie Shirley were the victims. All five girls had been members of the Fairport Varsity Cheerleading Squad, but Shirley left the squad her Freshman year. The girls had all graduated from FHS five days before the accident occurred.

Church services and a candlelight vigil were held in memory of the girls in the 24 hours following the accident. Before sunrise, about a hundred students gathered on a grassy hill overlooking the high school, where counselors were available all day. Hundreds passed through the school during the day, and even more came to the same hill that night for the vigil.

[edit] College death
On September 6, 2007, David Anderson, a 2007 graduate from Fairport High School, was found dead in his room at Brigham Young University[4]

[edit] Baseball coach dies
On November 28, 2007, Pete Granger, coach of the Raiders varsity baseball team, died from cancer
