Default Passenger window doesn't roll up, other windows work both ways.

Anyone have any idea why this is? Manual doesn't tell me where the window fuses are, anyone know where they are? I've got to go to work tomorrow and can't find a definitive answer when I search. I have an '04 WRX Sedan. Thanks.

Pull the door panel off, disconnect the motor switch and hook a test light up to it. If it lights up with the switch rocked either direction then your problem is with the motor. If it lights up only in the Down position, then the problem is most likely with one of your door switches, either the driver's side or passenger side. From there it gets more complicated than I care to try to explain at 11pm, but I hope that little bit helps...

Thanks for the response. I got the window to roll up. I will post a picture later when I'm not at work, but what I did to get it to work is disconnected the power wire from the switch to the motor. It's the wire that is connected via a harness that is bolted to the door. There were two leads, checking with a volt meter, the two leads both gave off 12 volts when the switch was in its respective position. So, I ran two wires from the harness on the switch to the harness on the door and reversed how it would connect normally. I pressed down on the switch and the window went up. I'm not sure why this is, either a ground is messed up (or possibly disconnected since my interior is in disarray) or the connector on the switch side is messed up and won't make a connection with the connector on the door from the up position. Anyway, I thought I would put an update.

Pics please? I'm having the same problem and have taken my doors apart, but i'm not sure exactly what you're referring to as the motor, etc. Many thanks.

My passenger door window switch won't work at all, but I can control the passenger window from the master controls. Does this just sound like my switch is screwed up?

Thanks,

Yes, it does. Cleaning the switch contacts will most likely get it working or you can replace the switch. To verify the switch as the problem you can try swapping it with another one.

if the switch is ok, then it may be the power window amp.. in one of previous cars, i took the door panel off and then took out the power window amp... looked for broken connections and resoldered it and it worked.
