Default Help Identifying an Engine

I have the option to buy a full JDM STi Spec C engine from an 06-07 to swap into my 05 WRX but I realize that the difference between an JDM STi and a Spec C is all in the heads. My question is, if I have the full engine, how can I be sure it is indeed a Spec C?

Default engines and info

One wonders if there is a repository somewhere with all the various models and associated years and engine types, and more importantly what mods are typically done to get various outputs....seems like a good idea if it isn't done already....

well while i try to figure out if it is a Spec C or not, here's another question. From what I understand, I should be able to drop the complete engine into my bay and wire it up using the wiring harness from my 05. The only thing that wouldnt work is the AVCS which would default to the high setting. Am I correct?
