I love math jokes, but its not 3.5 million to swap :P

Best option out there is to buy a totaled WRX, swap over the needed parts and then part out what you don't use and you'll make a decent amount back to make it a viable investment. Once you've completed the swap properly you will have increased the resale value of the car

Are you doing the work yourself? You can get a really nice motor for < 5000

Buy yourself a JDM front clip, or a motor from JHOT. It probably isn't going to be super reliable and a lot of times its a pain in the ass to source parts for, but they are cheap motors that can make decent power.

I know this gets said every two seconds here...

Hey man, are these motors as reliable as v6,7,8 USDM sti motors?
I plan on doing an STI swap in my 00RS but I am lost with what engine to go with and where to have it done?? Im in Ontario, Canada.

Thank You

I will have an 02 WRX motor, spun a bearing, for sale sooner than later. I will be sending the bottom end to a local machine shop for rebuild and then reassembly. I could sell you a swap. It would include the Motor, Turbo, Intercooler, fuel pump, alt, A/C comp, full harness..etc... Would cost less than 3500 by a good ways. Just another option!!!

Just curious, what is a reason behind the "JDM engine" and why are all these engines available so cheap? ANd are they basically the same as the American spec motors?
