I'd love to do this but I don't have a ton of time lately. I haven't done any downhill stuff... just 'regular' trails but I have a lot of fun. I used to have a hardtail Stumpjumper but I tore it apart and put a new frame on it. I really want to try some of those north shore trails because they sound nice... Vietnam, Lynn woods, etc. Haven't been up that way to ride... only right around me.

I raced Downhill on my Santa Cruz V10 for years. If anyone is looking to get to a MTN check first. I lnow Attitash is closed already. Now I am riding my Rocky Mountain Slayer built up for freeride. I will be riding Lynn this Sat. Morning if anyone is going. How about a Nesic Lynn ride as well a Nam?

Hey I know Koffee from Bustedspoke.com I think.

I ride an silver Ironhorse Sunday and a Gary Fisher Hi-fi Pro.
I always enjoy a good Nam session, but I have to work on the 27th. Tomorrow I will be venturing up to Highland tomorrow, next Friday and next Sunday.
So if anyone is up for a fun Highland session hit me up, and for you people on hardtails, you can rent a fun DH bike.

what you guys think, a 2005 kona stinky or a 2006 kona dawg? which would be better, both for right around 500 bucks

What is it going to be used for? If you want to do mainly downhill then get the stinky, if you want something that can handle an occasional XC ride or don't have a dedicated XC bike, get the Dawg.

It would not be as fun to go to places like Vietnam on a Stinky IMO.

Yeah to a degree. If you are going to do some casual DHing it would be fine on some of the smoother stuff. I would say 75% trail riding 25% DH the Dawg would be fine. If you want to get more serious about DH (and you will if you go enough) get the stinky and keep your hardtail for the XC rides.

That is a pretty good price. Make him split shipping with you or meet part way. If it is in good shape it is still probably worth it.

yea thats what i figured is that it would be worth it, but it'd probably be like 100 bucks to ship it since it's so big. and it would be like 100+ in gas money to drive there

Yup. I used to had the black SRT. I know I would love too, but its the end of the month and I'm in sales... so I gotta work. I have vacation at the beginning of October and will be riding everyday possible.

Man, I haven't touched my bikes since late August - way too busy with teaching and coaching soccer. Leave for work at 6:45 AM and get home at between 6 and 6:30 PM.

I don't do downhill, but I like singletrack. I remember setting up a ride in the Vietnam trails a few years back for NESICers, it was a great time, but I haven't really been out since.

I may be able to join in if something is set up, I'm in decent shape in general, but I haven't ridden a pedal-bike in like two years...

They're both good companies if you get some of their nicer stuff. Are you looking for a new bike now or an older one, cause older KHS's weren't to great. If you want a cheap complete bike that rides awesome, I would say Giant, Mongoose, Gary Fisher or Trek.

Very nice bike. If you're gonna be doing anything big check out a non-carbon Moto, they are nice spec's for the money.
