Default wiring

I own a 2003 wrx that is in great shape. I am getting a 2004 sti that has been wrecked. I am looking to swap the engine and transmission over to the wrx. In the process i will be rebuilding the whole car. Wouldn't it be easier for me to remove all the wrx wires and just install the STI wires and just splice the connectors where they go for all the accessories? I'm new to the whole conversion deal so i am wondering what will be my best rought.

What you're going to do is merge all the wrx non engine/tranny management wiring into the sti ecu while leaving all the sti wiring alone. Since you have the whole car, if the dash and everything else will fit into the wrx, that's probably a quicker/easier route.

It's easiest just to think about what you're changing when you go through each wire in the ecu. Make sense of what you're doing with each wire and it will be easy.

You'll also have to wire in the new fuel pump (I think, I'm not sure about wrx to sti on that one) and your OBDII might need to be rewired too. Just compare the diagrams.

It amazes me how much I forgot since I finished my swap in June
