Just thought I'd let you all know. No, it's not sticking, but it's still falling here on Debarr.

^^ From ER. Its not snowing right now, but looks like any moment.

We just went to the storage to pick up something else, but we decided to take the snow tires home just in case.

Got a question though. My snow tire set is Hakkapeliitta and they were designed to use as studded but I decided to use as stud-less last year. Is it possible to get them studded even if they are used?

I just wanted to prepare for our very first winter in AK.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah guess I better go dig the tires out too. I'll hold off until it starts to stick good though.

About 2 inches of snow here in Fairbanks from last night. Yes, get your tires on now. I'm sure it will come before you think it will this year. I'm still stuck on summer tires until Monday.

NJ is cold as hell...it isn't normally this cold in Oct. I got out of my car today and smelled a woodburning stove or fireplace. It's freezing I already have out my electric blanket. It's supposed to go into the 30's. And stupid me is going to 6 Flags tomorrow...imagine how cold it will be on rides. :-(

It is possible. Many tire shops will complain and charge you more for the job, though. Small rocks get in the stud holes, making the job harder. Just call around and ask.

Good luck.

Thanks and I see. But do you guys recommend to drive on stud-less? All we are planning is to go to Fairbanks to try to catch the aurora sometime in November. Other than that, its gonna be around the town. We lived in Montana before we moved here, so we know how to get around, just worried about AK winter.

I drove out to ER today and from about Muldoon to Ft Rich it was slushy snow stuff, but melting as it hit the ground, then it turned to slush rain and then just rain. When I came back shortly after, it was just rain.
